INFORMATION

The Carer Support Team supports unpaid carers in Wolverhampton, through Carer Assessments, emotional support and support groups.  They also provide information for Carers such as newsletters and email bulletins, as well as signposting them to relevant services to assist them in their caring role.  Assessment includes a benefits check to ensure that Carers are receiving the financial support they are entitled to and also register the Carer for an emergency card.  The emergency card has a unique serial number.  The phone number supplied on the card gives a direct link to the Council's emergency team which holds a database with information about the person the Carer looks after.  Emergency care can then be put into place if the Carer was to be in an accident or emergency situation.
