Carers Support Service - generic information, advice, emotional support, advocacy, signposting for current and former carers.
Types of Work Carried Out By Carers Centre Tower Hamlet
  • Inward referrals from any agency or self referrals
  • Carers Assessment of Needs (non statutory)
  • Home visits – limited to where carers are unable to get to CCTH due to age / disability or where housebound by caring role
  • Onward referrals-social care, OT, health agencies, GP’s, respite, Carers Handyman, Carers Relief, other carers agencies, wheelchair service  etc
  • Basic information, advice & signposting –Young Carers, Carers of Children with Disabilities

  • Complementary Therapies-Reflexology, massage, acupuncture (stress management only & not to deal with health conditions)
  • Counselling- re Disability issues & the impact of the caring role

INFORMATION The Centre offers a wide range of services to Carers such as information and advice on issues such as benefits, housing and respite care. Another service includes complementary therapies, counselling, support groups and support for Asian carers. Languages spoken by staff include Hindi, Urdu, Gujurati and Punjabi, Vietnamese and Cantonese.
