Barnardos

Barnardo's helps the most vulnerable children and young people (including young carers) transform their lives and fulfil their potential.

 

RipRap when a Parent has Cancer

A website for young people who have a parent with cancer. The site includes information on various types of cancer, support for carers and young people's experiences of living with a parent with cancer. The site has been set up by the University of Sheffield.

 

Winston's Wish

Winston's Wish help bereaved children and young people rebuild their lives after a family death. The organisation offers practical support and guidance to families, to professionals and anyone concerned about a grieving child.

 

Young Carers Initiative

The Children's Society National Young Carers Initiative provides information, advice and training to anyone who works with young carers and their families .  The organisation works with young carers projects and other organisations to develop good quality support and information for young carers, their families and those who work to support them.

 

Young Carers Net

The Young Carers Net is a site for under 18s who are also informal carers. The site is run by the Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

 

Young Carers Net for professionals

The Young Carers net for professionals gives guidance on policy etc. for professional working with Young Carers. The site is administered by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

 

Young Carers Research Group

The Young Carers Reasearch Group was founded in 1992 and is based in the Department of Social Sciences at Loughborough University. The research group comprises Jo Aldridge, Darren Sharpe and Chris Dearden . The YCRG conducts high quality research, evaluation and consultancy on all matters relating to children with caring responsibilities – young carers – in order to advance knowledge and inform the development of health and social care policy and good practice.

 

Young Minds

Young Minds is a national charity committed to improving the mental health of children and young people.
