At Assist UK, products can be tried out and other solutions examined. Centres provide free information to people in person, by telephone, letter or email. Assist UK is a national organisation. The organisation aims to improve disabled and older people's access to accurate, reliable and impartial information and advice about products and equipment for easier living.

National organisation which provides support and information to families of children with any disability, special need or rare disorder. There is a regional office covering the West Midlands, which can put local families in touch with local services, groups and organisations. The office can offer: information through the helpline on parent groups, specific conditions, local services, information (e.g. benefits, siblings and holidays); support and information to existing parent groups and help in setting up new groups; workshops offering shared learning and mutual support for local families; free regional newsletter and close working relationships with other organisations to promote the interests of parents and families.

| Leonard Cheshire Disability |

RESCARE supports people with learning disabilities and their carers. There is a necessity for a wide range of service options to meet the often multiplicity of needs and RESCARE seeks to promote real choice in: Education: through properly resourced mainstream, special day and residential schools. Residential and various Living Environments, support services and respite care. RESCARE supports whichever choice suits the individual best.

Scope is the disability organisation in England and Wales whose focus is people with cerebral palsy. The aim is that disabled people achieve equality. Scope provides information via the Cerebral Palsy Helpline, (call free on 0808 800 3333). Scope provides leaflets for parents as well as factsheets on therapies and other aspects of living with disability.

The Staffordshire Parent Action Network helps parents and carers of disabled children under the age of 18 make a difference to the services offered to them in Staffordshire. Formed in 2010, we are a group of Staffordshire parents and carers and we want to collect your ideas and opinions. We meet on a monthly basis and also attend the meetings of many service providers where we pass on your comments to assist them in providing better services for disabled children. Many services also use our Network, and the many links we have, to feedback decisions made and to evaluate provision at ground level.

The Rowan Organisation is currently under contract to provide support and assistance to users of Direct Payments in the Staffordshire area.
