CHEWS Annual Report April 2009 - March 2010
The CASS Carers Health Education & Wellbeing Team (formally known as the Learning & Leisure Team) are pleased to report that the results of a Mental Wellbeing Impact Assessment we conducted on the our project in 2007/8 – has been featured as a case study in a paper on the MWIA toolkit application from the National Mental Health Development Unit and can be accessed through:

We appreciated the opportunity to be the first carer’s organisation completing the MWIA
process and to represent the “West Midlands Champions” group of organisations trained to
deliver the MWIA using the toolkit. We are continuing to implement various recommendations
that resulted from our MWIA and will review their progress shortly.
Update May 2010
The MWIA Toolkit is being updated in June. We will post further news here when available.
The L & L team has had a paper about our MWIA selected for presentation at the 5th Annual
International Carers Conference to be held in Leeds in July. We are really delighted at having
our work acknowledged and such a great opportunity to promote the work of CASS to a wider
audience.
