Health & Wellbeing Service
What we offer

Topics vary from First Aid to our “Take Good Care of Yourself” programme which offers workshops focusing on different aspects of looking after your own health while caring – something we very often put aside when busy attending to the needs of someone else. Workshops have recently included: confidence building, coping with stress, back care, healthy eating, simple exercise and heart health. We have also offered a “Changes for Mental Health” programme and many other options. We may also be able to advise should carers wish to seek further learning opportunities or take part in social activities elsewhere in the community.
CASS sessions also offer “time for you” away from the responsibilities of caring, in friendly and relaxed surroundings, among other carers, with CASS workers and volunteers on hand for support should you need us.
If you feel unsure about coming along for the first time, we will be happy to arrange to meet you at the venue and introduce you, or arrange for another carer to be your ‘buddy’ for the session. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other concerns or questions.
The well-being of carers is paramount to us. To ensure the best possible outcomes for carers, we have held a Mental Wellbeing Impact Assessment (MWIA) on the Health & Wellbeing (formerly Learning & Leisure) Service and we evaluate learning sessions and gather feedback from carers. We regularly conduct risk assessment and workers receive updated training in relevant skills, including Emergency First Aid at Work and Food Safety and Hygiene. CASS workers and volunteers are all CRB checked.
CASS is committed to the practice of equality and diversity throughout its services - promoting equality, diversity of age, disability, ethnicity, religious belief, gender and sexual orientation and human rights in the workplace and providing a service that recognises the diverse needs of carers. It is intended that engagement with carers is done in a way where equality is given and everyone is valued. For more information or assistance, please contact us on telephone 01785 606675, or email as below.
If you are a carer, why not check out our forthcoming events and come along and see us soon?
