INFORMATION

The Carers Centre provides high quality support services to all carers (18 years old and above) caring for a family member with an illness, disability or mental health or substance misuse problem in the Eastleigh Borough including:

  • A drop-in coffee morning group in Eastleigh
  • A monthly coffee morning in Hamble
  • A free Counselling service which provides the opportunity for carers to express their views and feelings in a safe and confidential place
  • Free complimentary therapies, including aromatherapy
  • Advocacy, information and signposting to other agencies for other specific needs i.e. assistance with benefits enquiries and carers' assessments
  • One to one support
  • A weekly craft group
  • and much much more!

INFORMATION Eastleigh Young Carers Project is for young people from the age of 11 - 18 caring for someone with an illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse problem in the Eastleigh Borough.  The project provides one to one support, mentoring, club nights and trips and many other practical ways of helping young carers manage their caring role.  The Project works closely with schools, connexions, youth service and other agencies in the community to give young carers the support they want to make life more manageable and fun - so if you feel like you'd like to meet others in a similar position and get some support - you are not alone - get in touch!

INFORMATION

Portsmouth Carers Centre provides support, information and access to breaks for carers of all ages and all ethnic backgrounds. Support for local carers groups is given and access to formalised breaks. Access to advocacy, benefits advice, referrals to other agencies, and support for dealing with statutory agencies is also given. A library of information for carers and professionals is available to access funding and respite services.

Please note that the services we provide are available only for carers who pay their council tax towards Portsmouth City Council.  We are able to give general advice and support to carers outside this boundary, but we are not able to provide any funding or respite.
