Background
Carers Association Southern Staffordshire has been working for carers in Staffordshire since 1996.
It became an independent charity managed by a Board of Trustees
in June 2001.
It now provides a service to over 3,500 adult carers and 400 young carers. CASS offers advice, information and emotional support to individual carers either on
the telephone, through home visits and a range of printed material including the
newsletter 'Aspects'. There are also drop-ins and a regular programme of activities
for carers.
There are also specialist services for young carers, mental health carers and people
with progressive neurological conditions and their carers.
CASS currently employs 30 staff.
